The workshop includes advanced concepts in neonatal critical care monitoring techniques, clinical and physiological assessments, and advanced integrated monitoring and its interpretations. This includes cerebral, renal and splanchnic NIRS, its applications and interpretations, non-invasive and invasive cardiovascular monitoring techniques, histograms, perfusion index, decision-making algorithm in hypotension management, physiologic categories of shock, targets for interventions and weaning, Assessment of tissue oxygenation, earliest detection and management of impaired cerebral autoregulation in hypoxemic states.

The workshop includes optional prerequisite Courses available online at Neopeds Academy, which are strongly recommended to be taken by everyone before the workshop for better understanding and to optimize your learning.

Dr. Muzafar Gani Abdul Wahab

Dr. Abdul Wahab (a.k.a Dr.Gani) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. He pursued his medical training in India, completed his postgraduate training in Pediatrics and Neonatology at Manipal University India and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program, and Masters in eHealth at McMaster University. He was the Program Director for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at McMaster University from 2013 to 2018. He was the first recipient of McMaster's prestigious DPLEIA Award for his educational innovation during his leadership. His passion is training and knowledge translation in TnEcho and Point of care ultrasound in Neonatology. He is now the Program Director for the TNE fellowship and chair of the TNE and POCUS committee at McMaster. He is the founding co-chair of the international POCUSNEO program in Canada. He conducted several local, international, and online conferences, courses, and workshops on TNE and POCUS

Dr. Yasser Elsayed

Yasser Elsayed is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Manitoba, Staff Neonatologist, and Researcher at the children's hospital research institute of Manitoba. He is the Founder and Director of the integrated hemodynamics program and point of care ultrasound in Winnipeg. The co-chair of the POCUNEO group. He conducted more than 50 workshops in the last 5 years locally, nationally, and internationally. His research interests are in the field of hemodynamics and physiology-oriented practice. He was the co-chair of the Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting 2020.
