Diploma in Basic Neonatal Hemodynamics
A special training program designed for all health care providers in Pediatrics and Neonatology to optimize their basic skills in Neonatal Hemodynamics and how to apply in their neonatal practice.
The program consists of following steps.
Step 1: Enrolment in designated courses assigned to this diploma program (listed below). Participants must satisfactorily complete these mandatory prerequisite courses.
Step 2: Participants must get enrolled in any assigned workshops in Basic Neonatal Hemodynamics (assigned below)
Step 3: Enrolment to the Diploma Program by online payment. Once enrolled, Neopeds Academy will assign a faculty mentor to the participant who would be constantly in touch with the participant through Email.
Step 4: The candidate would start documenting their hemodynamic encounters as well as start saving all of their basic echocardiograms performed in their NICU at their local computer system. It is the responsibility of the participant to de-identify the patient information before saving to their local system adhering to their local institutional policies on patient privacy.
Step 5: Once a month, the assigned faculty mentor would meet the candidate online through Zoom, screen sharing and would review all the cases, echo studies done by the candidate. In real-time the faculty mentor would be giving feedback on technical skills, interpretation and reporting skills of each scan submitted for review. Also faculty would submit a monthly evaluation to the candidate and to Neopeds Academy Diploma program committee on candidate's monthly performance.
Step 6: At the end of 6 months period, the candidate must complete 20 Case scenarios with basic echocardiogram studies, reviewed by Neopeds Faculty Mentor securing more than 75% of the time scores of 4 out of 5 in knowledge, technical and Interpretation skills of assessments performed.
Step 7: Exit Exam: Online Assessment Exam with 20 case scenarios (with real case recorded clips). Securing 75% in the exit exam would finally make them eligible to receive the Diploma certificate provided from Neopeds Academy.
Please Note: Program Length is strictly 6 months. Neopeds Academy will not be held responsible for candidates unable to achieve the number of case submissions set within this time frame. If Candidate is unable to complete the desired number of cases within the set program duration, he or she would then need to re-purchase the mentorship program for the next 6 months by paying the full cost.

Dr. Yasser Elsayed

Yasser Elsayed is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Manitoba, Staff Neonatologist, and Researcher at the children's hospital research institute of Manitoba. He is the Founder and Director of the integrated hemodynamics program and point of care ultrasound in Winnipeg. The co-chair of the POCUSNEO group. He conducted more than 50 workshops in the last 5 years locally, nationally, and internationally. His research interests are in the field of hemodynamics and physiology-oriented practice. He was the co-chair of the Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting 2020.
Dr. Muzafar Gani Abdul Wahab

Dr. Abdul Wahab (a.k.a Dr.Gani) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. He pursued his medical training in India, completed his postgraduate training in Pediatrics and Neonatology at Manipal University India and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program, and Masters in eHealth at McMaster University. He was the Program Director for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at McMaster University from 2013 to 2018. He was the first recipient of McMaster's prestigious DPLEIA Award for his educational innovation during his leadership. His passion is training and knowledge translation in TnEcho and Point of care ultrasound in Neonatology. He is now the Program Director for the TNE fellowship and chair of the TNE and POCUS committee at McMaster. He is the founding co-chair of the international POCUSNEO program in Canada. He conducted several local, international, and online conferences, courses, and workshops on TNE and POCUS
